Police have arrested two suspected robbers who allegedly shot dead a man in front of his wife while resisting an armed robbery in Gulistan-e-Johar.
In a video statement, SSP Investigation (East) Altaf Hussain said that on September 1, Zeeshan Afzal and his wife pulled up their car outside an ice cream shop in Block 14, Gulistan-e-Johar, when two robbers riding on a motorcycle tried to rob them. When Zeeshan tried to put up resistance, they fatally shot him before fleeing the scene.
A case was registered at Sharae Faisal police station and the police launched investigations to identify the killer robbers.

SSP Hussain said that the police managed to arrest one of the suspects, identified as Yasir alias Gogo, on October 4, who, during interrogation, named his accomplice as John alias Juni.
He further revealed that they had snatched a mobile phone in Gulistan-e-Johar and spotted Zeeshan's car while fleeing.
John asked him to pull up in front of the car. John got down, approached the car and threatened the occupants at gunpoint to hand over cash and valuables. As soon as, Zeeshan placed his hand on the car window, John pulled the trigger and ran towards the motorcycle. They sped away from the crime scene.
The suspect further told investigators that his accomplice was a habitual criminal who was out on bail in a robbery case registered against him in Azizabad police station. However, he got his bail canceled by the court on September 26 and went to jail.
SSP Hussain said that the police went to jail to interrogate John who allegedly confessed to killing Zeeshan. Later, police recovered the 30-bore pistol used in the crime and 2 bullets on the pointation of the accused.
SSP Hussain further said that Zeeshan's widow has also identified the accused in the court. Zeeshan was HR Manager at the Kidney Center.
