Shutter-down in Loralai against student’s murder
A complete shutter down was observed against the brutal murder of a student in the Loralai district of Balochistan on Tuesday.
Armed men had made hostage and killed Israr Khan, a student on Monday in Kohar Dam locality of Loralai which also left three other students seriously injured.
Israr Khan was the only brother of four sisters and the attack happened near the University of Loralai.
The local residents started a protest against the broad daylight murder and political parties had given a call for a complete strike against it.
Daily life activities were paralyzed as a result of the strike as all the shopping centers, markets, and shops remained closed in Loralai, bringing the city to a standstill.
“We have no enmity with anyone. We want justice and the arrest of the culprits responsible for the murder,” Zank Khan, the uncle of the victim said. The police and the administration must ensure the arrest of the accused involved in the incident otherwise our protest would continue, he added.
“The culprits must be arrested and they should be made example for other,” Obaid Ullah Babat, the central leader of Pakhtunkhwa Mili Awami Party (PKMAP), said.
Political parties brought out a rally and staged a protest demonstration in Loralai to put pressure on the government to take steps for the arrest of those involved.
The protesters chanted slogans and demanded justice for the family. The participants were also carrying placards and demanded peace in the area.
The attackers had managed to make good their escape after committing the crime. According to the Levies sources the student had been shot from a close range.
“Raids were conducted in different parts of the Loralai district to arrest the culprits involved in the attack,” Assistant Commissioner Loralai, Jameel Baloch said.
