Meeting ponders feasibility of power generation from waste

Karim emphasized on cooperation amongst the stakeholders for efficient and effective ways of utilization of waste

PESHAWAR:

A meeting regarding feasible and sustainable model for useful utilization of waste to energy generation was held under the chairmanship of Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Industries, Abdul Karim Khan Thorder.

Public sector stakeholders including local government, Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization, EPA, Industries, KPBOIT, KPEZDMC, PCSIR participated in the meeting.

From the private sector technical experts of Cherat Cement Private Ltd delivered a detailed presentation regarding the waste to energy model they are currently operating and highlighted different technical aspects of the process and technology. The participants deliberated on various initiatives, challenges and technologies that can be adopted for waste to energy in the province.

Karim emphasized on cooperation amongst the stakeholders for efficient and effective ways of utilization of waste and alternative energy creation for wider benefits of the province and the economy.

He appreciated the efforts of Cherat Cement Private Ltd for waste to energy implementation and encouraged them to come forward and contribute towards the development in the field and offered maximum support in moving forward.
