Meesha Shafi’s song for Juhi Chawla-starrer ‘Hush Hush’ is the ‘beating heart of the series’

Director of the Indian series thanked the singer for lending her soulful voice ‘from across oceans’

Meesha Shafi’s soulful voice got her a place in Amazon Prime India’s new show Hush Hush and we couldn’t be prouder! The track Mere Mahru’s music video features the daily lives of Juhi Chawla, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Karishma Tanna and Shahana Goswami playing to Meesha's belting notes. It was actually her Coke Studio number with brother Faris Shafi that landed her the gig.

On Sunday, Mere Mahru was finally released on YouTube for the public after the series debuted on the OTT platform in late September. The soulful number opens with Chawla working out at dusk, her daily life featuring the other female leads as her friends.

Crediting the songwriter Sameer Rahat and Meesha's “gorgeous voice,” she encouraged her followers to let the song “transport” them.

The ex

Tanuja re-shared Meesha’s Instagram story and thanked her for singing for them “from across oceans.” She also expressed that she’s glad Shafi came to her mind after she spoke with actor Sania Saeed and asked if she could get her the Muaziz Saarif singer’s contact details.

According to Amazon Prime, Hush Hush is about “four friends that find themselves hurling down a rabbit hole of lies, deceit and secrets after a dangerous encounter at a party. As their privileged and safe world turns upside down, the secrets become the reason to bond for their survival.” With seven episodes in total, Hush Hush can now be binge-watched on Amazon Prime. Like3:17 pm
