Atif Aslam, Sami Khan rub shoulders with Anil Kapoor, Farah Khan, others in Dubai

Pakistani artists met the B-town actors at Sanjay Kapoor's birthday bash

The Indian government may have imposed a ban on Pakistani artists from working alongside Bollywood stars in 2019 but that never stopped their bond from growing. They have time and again found opportunities and ways to meet each other in different countries and continue their friendships based on their love for art. Singers Atif Aslam and Sami Khan reuniting with their Bollywood friends in Dubai is a testament to this.

Sanjay Kapoor’s birthday bash in Dubai was a star-studded affair graced with not just the best of Bollywood but also their long-lost friends from Pakistan. Atif, who grew to fame with multiple hits like Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Pehli Nazar Mein and Dil Diyan Gallan, attended the party with his wife, Sara Bharwana.

Atif looked dapper in his signature look with a plain all-black ensemble paired with a little glitz with his shimmery black on-black embroidered jacket— a typical rockstar look, we must say. Sara, on the other hand, was clad in a bright pink and red kurta with ruffled feathers completing the outfit.

In viral pictures floating on the internet, Atif and Sara were seen posing in several pictures alongside B-town actor Anil Kapoor. It seemed like they first bumped into the Jugg Jugg Jeeyo actor at the hotel where he met with social media sensation The Quick Style group for their upcoming collaboration on Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.

After that, the duo was papped with Anil again at Sanjay’s party posing with the birthday boy and his friends and family. Apart from Anil, it seemed like tennis diva Sania Mirza also found a little more of Pakistan around her that day. Atif and Sara also took pictures with Sania and her best friend, choreographer Farah Khan.

The couple was also seen posing with The Fabulous Wives of Bollywood stars Maheep Kapoor and Bhavana Pandey, and the latter’s husband and actor Chunky Pandey as well.

Sami took to Instagram with a picture where he’s posing alongside the Mr. India actor. “I’m a huge fan sir and [have] loads of respect for you. You are an inspiration to loads of people like me. Keep shining sir,” he wrote with heart emojis. Sami also added the hashtag of his upcoming film Yaara Vey to the post, which is UAE’s first Hindi-Urdu language film to be released in theatres.

Based on a woman's journey to find love and discover herself, Yaara Vey stars an ensemble of Pakistani and Bollywood actors such as Sami Khan, Faizan Khawaja, Aleeze Nasser, Marina Khan and others.
