Heat spell likely to persist for three days

On Sunday, the city sizzled as mercury exceeded 38 degrees

KARACHI:

Sea breezes are likely to remain suspended for a few more days while heat will continue during the daytime in Karachi.

On Sunday, the city sizzled as mercury exceeded 38 degrees while gusts of hot and dusty winds from Balochistan blew due to the increase in the humidity ratio.

According to details, the weather remained warm due to the inactive south-westerly winds from the sea and the hot desert winds of Balochistan. As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 38.4 degrees Celsius, and the heat intensity was felt higher than the actual temperature due to the increase in humidity up to 79 per cent.

According to PMD Early Warning Centre forecast, the heat will continue in the city during the afternoon for the next three days.

During this time, mercury can be recorded between 36 to 38 degrees.

The weather is expected to remain hot and dry in other districts of the province as well.
