KARACHI:

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that Imran Khan is trying to add fake popularity to his devastated reputation by making baseless accusations against the Pakistan Peoples Party and president, Asif Ali Zardari.

In a statement Sharjeel issued in reaction to the PTI chief’s address in Karachi, he said, Imran Khan is involved in money laundering, foreign funding, Peshawar BRT and hundreds of other corruption scandals that prove he himself is a big looter and plunderer, but he is accusing others to save his face.

The information minister said, “May someone ask Imran Khan where Rs1,100 billion and Rs262 billion of the Karachi package disappeared.” Imran Khan should tell the masses what development scheme he initiated during his four-year rule.

Sharjeel said, Imran Khan was given a false mandate to become prime minister but he proved to be a total failure.

He said, people are well aware to figure out who is right and who is cheating on them. Making unfounded accusations against rivals will not work anymore, Sharjeel mentioned.

He claimed, when Imran Khan came into power, Pakistan was under a debt burden of Rs25,000 billion, which increased to Rs50,000 billion during his tenure.

Sharjeel said, Imran Khan is trying to make people food and mislead them through his cunning speeches.

He said, even his die-hard supporter, referring to President Arif Alvi, has said in a statement that he was not convinced by Imran’s excuse of foreign conspiracy.

Information minister claimed that PTI’s key members are leaving the party. His preparations for long march is taking really too long. By the time he might complete this, it will be August 2023.
