Chief minister expresses gratitude over Saudi flood assistance

Rabita Alam-e-Islami Secretary General Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Essa has lauded Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for legislation done by him for the religion.

The visiting dignitary called on the chief minister and acknowledged the keen interest being taken by him in serving the religion. He said Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi had taken a historic step by enacting legislation to make the oath of the Finality of Prophethood (PBUH) mandatory in the marriage certificate.

"Our full cooperation is with you," he added.

The CM said the relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are exemplary. "Every Pakistani considers Saudi Arabia as their second home and our hearts beat together," he said and noted that Saudi Arabia has stood by Pakistan in every hour of trial.

He said every Pakistani appreciated the assistance provided by the Saudi government and people after the recent flood.

The chief minister also mentioned initiatives to set up the Quran Board and Sirat Academy. He said all schools of thought had been given representation in the Ulema Board.
