Polio eradication: Polio cases decline sharply in 2011
Around 69 cases of polio have been registered in Pakistan in 2011, down from 144 in 2010.

Around 69 cases of polio have been registered in Pakistan in 2011, down from 144 in 2010. Twenty-six cases were reported from Balochistan, 22 from Fata and 14 from Sindh. This fall has been achieved due to measures taken by the government in collaboration with international health organisations. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat was granted administrative control of the Prime Minister’s Monitoring on Coordination Cell for Polio Eradication.
