Cop suspended for torturing accused

RAWALPINDI:
City Police Officer Rawalpindi Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari suspended a constable deputed at the Naseerabad Police Station after a video of the alleged torture of an accused surfaced.
Police had taken Furqan into custody on charges of stealing mobile phones and altering their IMEI numbers before selling the stolen mobile phones.
Soon after the footage showing the police torture went viral, the CPO Rawalpindi suspended Constable Muhammad Ali in the light of an inquiry report.
The CPO Rawalpindi also sought an explanation form the Naseerabad SHO Inspector Khizar, Constable Shaukat and Constable Aamir on the incident.
