JUI-F declines invitation to join Balochistan govt
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has rejected Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo’s invitation for joining the coalition government.
JUI-F Balochistan chief Maulana Wasay announced this decision while addressing a press conference on Monday.
Opposition Leader in Balochistan Assembly Malik Sikandar Advocate and other JUI-F members were present at the press conference.
Maulana Wasay said that the Balochistan CM was not giving a portfolio in proportion to the presence and support of the JUI-F in the Balochistan Assembly.
“From now onwards, we will intensify our campaign against bad governance in Balochistan,” he said.
This announcement of rejection came two weeks after the invitation of CM Bizenjo to the JUI-F for joining the government. Bizenjo and Maulana Wasay held four meetings in this regard to implement a charter of demand given by JUI-F for joining the government, but no breakthrough was made in those meetings.
Maulana Wasay also discussed the issue of the flood-affected areas. He said that most parts of the Naseerabad division are still flooded.
“Our main priority in joining the government was to help the flood-affected people of Balochistan,” Maulana Wasay said. “We were planning to help the flood affectees using the government resources.”
The incumbent government must hold press conferences about the flood situation and make an effective strategy to restore the damages on an emergency basis, he said.
“We have demanded from the ruling government of the province to enhance the relief and rehabilitation activities in the flood-affected areas,” he added.
