Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has urged the youth to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and study his character for the prosperity of the nation.

"Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the first time in history created a welfare state but now there is no Muslim state which is a welfare state. Scandinavian countries are the closest to Riyasat-e-Madina," he said while addressing a ceremony in connection with Eid Miladun Nabi in Islamabad.

Imran said when he went to the UK, he for the first time saw how a welfare state worked. "They take care of their animals more than we care about our people. Even stray dogs are provided shelter homes," he added.

The deposed premier said that the societies which follow the principles of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will have prosperity, whether they are Muslims or not. "Allah gave him [Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)] the title of Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen... he is a blessing for the entire humanity," he added.

In Riyasat-e-Madina, Imran said the Prophet (PBUH) united the people and did not divide them. "Mohammad Abduh, a famous Egyptian scholar, when he went to Europe, he said he saw Islam but no Muslims but when he returned to Egypt, he said he saw Muslims, but not Islam."

The PTI chief went on to say that "our prime minister goes to foreign countries and begs for money", saying that the country will default and it is a shameful moment for the entire nation. "Some white persons come from abroad and everybody here bows before them. We need to reflect back on this holy day. This country was not founded that some people make money and the rest become their slaves," he added.

Imran said that Pakistan has also the resources in the world to become a prosperous country. "We have all the resources. We have all seasons. During my tenure, I came to know how blessed we are.," he said and added that everyone particularly the youth has to play a role in the uplifting of the country.

"I made Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen authority so that everybody gets to know about the character of our Prophet (PBUH). Youth are being targeted with Western values therefore we need to stop the onslaught with Prophet's (PBUH) character. Our children start to copy Western culture. We will revive Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen authority when we get back into power. We should give a strong foundation to our children. I urge the youth to read books and study the character of our Holy Prophet (PBUH)."

He said that the PTI government tried to change the curriculum after 75 years. "We have a separate education system for the rich and the poor. We tried to change that but probably this government had suspended the plan."

He said that on rule of law index, Switzerland is at the top with over 99% and you can see there are no issues there. "Nigeria is ranked at the bottom with 7%. Nigeria has the most oil in Africa but it is a poor country because there is no rule of law. The entire Muslim world is below 20%. Pakistan has less than 10%."
