Security forces kill terrorist in Peshawar IBO

Weapon and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, says ISPR

Security forces on Thursday killed a terrorist during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Peshawar, the military said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the conduct of the operation in the general area Mattani, an intense fire exchange took place between troops and terrorists.

Resultantly, it added, one terrorist got killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, the statement added.

The ISPR said that the terrorist remained actively involved in terror activities against security forces and the killing of innocent citizens.

On Tuesday, at least four terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security troops in the general area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district.

According to the ISPR, security forces observed and engaged the terrorists. The killed terrorists were involved in targeted killing, kidnapping and extortion in the area, according to the military's media wing.

Security forces also recovered arms and ammunition from those killed.

Last month, security forces killed at least three terrorists in two separate operations in K-P’s Lakki Marwat and Swat districts.

On the night of September 22-23, army troops observed and engaged terrorists' movement in the general area Sheikh Badin Mountains of Lakki Marwat, the military's media wing said.

“During an exchange of fire, two terrorists got killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists,” it added.
