Aima Baig says recent controversy affected her father badly

Singer Aima Baig has had a rather rough month after a British supermodel accused her of cheating with ex-boyfriend filmmaker Qes Ahmed. Just days before that, the 27-year-old singer had announced the split with her former fiance Shahbaz Shigri. While she posted a statement to share how the public allegations affected her mental health, she has now shared how her father, too, grieved with her.

On Wednesday, the Do Bol singer took to Instagram with a picture of her dad on his birthday. “That’s my father," she wrote while sharing how she wasn't close with him growing up but has realised how much he loves her and his family especially after the singer's mother passed away.
 

No father likes seeing his daughter in pain and Baig's is no exception. “This past week, he’d been watching me go through something major. I’ve always been the kind of kid who barely shows any remorse or bring any negative ambience to the family, but what got me MEGA emo was that this whole time, I could see a helpless, yet strong concern in his eyes and actions for me. Like, he so badly wanted this whole chaos to be over for me," she wrote detailing how the chaotic incidents affected her family as well.

The Baazi crooner further added how her dad would find little ways to make sure she was fine. “His tiny concerns, where he would ask me if he can make me my fav sandwich or his delicate knocks on my door just to check up on me if I’m okay? His soft strokes on my head while I pretend to sleep."

While she was struggling herself, Baig exclaimed how just like her, her father had been hoping to save his little daughter like he would when she was a kid. “I could see, how badly he wanted to just go back in time when I was in school and if I was ever bullied by someone back then, he used to stand up for his little daughter and take me to my fav candy shop, later on, just to see that smile on my face," she wrote.

“Today is his sixty-something birthday. I might not have confessed this to him so blatantly, but I will today. He’s been the best father to me, the only parent I have now, but his efforts to fulfil both duties have always been inspiring," she concluded with an I love you for her dad and a request to her followers to show some respect to him, regardless of what they hold against her.
