Train operation resumes after 41 days
The train operations to major cities, suspended for the past 41 days because of submerged and damaged rail tracks, have finally resumed.
Passengers who were left stranded for several weeks because of train service disruption are now going to their native homes.
At the same time, commuters also complained about the increase in train fares and demanded of the authorities to withdraw the hike.
According to details, the train operation between Lahore and Karachi has been restored as floodwater on the railway track receded.
Three trains departed from Lahore Railway Station at their scheduled time – the first Karakoram train from
Lahore via Faisalabad, the second Pak Business Express train and the third Karachi Express train via Sahiwal.
The railway administration has also decided to run more trains with the new winter timetable.
