Senate chairman for raising exports
Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Saturday urged the business community to play its role in increasing the country’s exports as development was not possible sans achieving self-sufficiency. Speaking to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), he said entrepreneurs, having a vital role in economic development, serve as catalysts in the process of industrialisation and economic growth of the country. The Senate chairman said that “technical progress alone can’t lead to economic development, unless technological breakthroughs were put to economic use by entrepreneurs.” He apprised the participants that ICCI would also be invited to the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Senate being organised in March.
