LAHORE:

The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) on Saturday launched its guided tour 'Wekh Androon Lahore'. WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari said this was a uniquely designed guided tour of old Lahore and trained guides would show visitors around locations that were difficult to explore.

Lashari said, "Tourists get to enjoy the true life of inner Lahore, its cuisines and culture," adding that it was an honor that the WCLA had received a favourable public response on the launch of the guided tour. The guided tour starts from Delhi Gate and goes up to Chowk Purani Kotwali.

Along the tour, tourists will be able to see 14 locations on the 'Shahi Guzargah,' the narrow streets of 'Androon' Lahore, heritage sites and bazaars. The tourists will be able to visit Shahi Hammam, Sabeel Wali Gali, Akbari Mandi, Tang Bazaar, Gali Surjan Singh, Haveli Mian Sultan, Chitta Gate, Dina Nath Well, Pakistan Cloth Market, Azam Cloth Market, Wazir Khan Masjid, Chowk Wazir Khan, Craft Bazaar and Craft Ghar.

The tour also features several cultural performances like dhol and dhamal, kotwal, danka, harmonium and Tabla, Heer Goi and a monkey show. Visitors also get a chance to taste local food like 'Lassi, Haleem, Muraba, Naan Khatai' and much more.
