ACP organises three-day art show

Proceeds from the sale of work will go to flood relief

KARACHI:

Three-day art exhibition, organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, for the relief of flood victims, was inaugurated.

Painters and sculptors from all over Pakistan are participating in the exhibition. The proceeds from the sale of the art will be deposited in the flood relief fund.

Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Faryal Talpur, commended the ACP initiative. She said, "I am very happy that the artist community is in the field to help the flood victims. I will definitely buy an art piece from here and appeal the philanthropists to contribute to noble cause.

Speaking on the occasion, ACP President Muhammad Ahmed Shah said, "There are 60 works of art on sale at the show which proves that artists play their due role whenever a need arises." He said, the proceeds from the sale of art work will go towards flood relief.

He said that 50 per cent of the art work has been sold. The exhibition will continue until Sunday.
