KARACHI:

Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered to include Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Karachi Development Authority (KDA) as parties in a petition regarding the possession of six-acre land of a public park in Nazimabad Block I.

SHC has sought a reply from both departments in the next hearing.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi heard the petition of former City Nazim Nimatu Ullah Khan and other residents regarding the illegal occupation of six-acre land of a park in Nazimabad Block-I.

The counsel for petitioner Raja Qasid Nawaz Advocate stated that the case has been ongoing since 2007, even after construction on illegally occupied land was completed.

Justice Rizvi remarked that all the China cutting has going on for a long, but not all of the 48 plots were allocated on the same day.

The allotment of plots started decades ago, would it be possible to annul this documentation,

Justice Rizvi remarked adding that a similar sale of illegal plots carved out of amenity plots happened in Korangi. Raja Nawaz Advocate stated that everything that is not part of the master plan of the city should be eliminated. The court ordered KMC and KDA to become parties and submit their replies within four weeks.
