Sequin extravaganza: Best dressed celebs at HUM Awards 2022

Held in Canada, this year’s celebration witnessed the who’s who of the Pakistani entertainment industry in attendance

Stars graced the red carpet of the Hum Awards 2022 on September 24. Held in Canada, this year’s extravaganza witnessed the who’s who of the Pakistani entertainment industry in attendance. A bevvy of artists took accolades home in leading categories, including the likes of Saboor Aly, Ahmed Ali Akbar and Ayeza Khan.

While the show offered some breathtaking performances by Zara Noor Abbas, Bilal Ashraf and Mahira Khan, it also saw some drool-worthy outfits making a statement. Aly, Khan and Abbas won a place in our best-dressed books for the glitzy night.

  1. Saboor Aly

It’s a big yes from us! Which girl doesn’t love ruffles, and that is everything the Parizaad actor’s ensemble was all about. Clad in an off-shoulder Sania Maskatiya creation, the pleats at the bodice cinched at her waist as a trail fell over her right shoulder and draped to the floor.

The ruffles were completed in layers, providing a feminine and ethereal look. Aly opted for a five-layered diamond necklace, featuring emerald drops. We love how she opted for simple diamond studs for her ears and tied her hair in a high bun. Black stilettos added to the finishing touches.

Red is her colour and she knows it too! The actor slayed in a shimmer and sequined sari by Zamanay Official. The blouse comprised of a plunging neckline and sheer sleeves, which were emphasised by the heavy embellishments at the cuffs. Abbas looked hot to trot as she flaunted the back of the blouse, which entailed a criss-cross cut-out design.

The sari and pallu sparkled as she strutted on the red carpet, sporting dangly diamond earrings and a messy bun. We loved her dewy and glowing makeup by makeup artist Shanzey Al-Amin. Staying true to her love for bling, Abbas completed her look with strappy embellished heels in silver.

The actor bagged an award for her popular TV drama Chupke Chupke and was the shining star of the night – quite literally! Khan donned an Abhinav Mishra creation; a mirror-worked lehenga choli and matching dupatta that she threw on like a cape.

The blouse featured a v-neck and the classic Indian cap sleeves, exuding the traditional vibe Khan seemed to be aiming for. With picture-perfect contouring and a pink pout, Khan opted for a slick back, gel hair look. She accessorised her look with a diamond and emerald necklace and delicate earrings.
