Bilawal urges de-escalation on Ukraine
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed concerns at the situation in Ukraine, emphasising that the conflict was not in anyone's interest and it particularly impacted the developing countries.
He was talking to his counterpart from Belarus Vladimir Makei who met him on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
Bilawal emphasised de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy to find a diplomatic solution.
The foreign minister expressed the hope that talks between the Russian and Ukrainian representatives would lead to normalisation of situation.
Bilawal reiterated his invite to Belarusian foreign minister to visit Pakistan and looked forward to welcoming him in Islamabad at an early date.
He said that Pakistan desired to take the relationship forward by broadening interaction in all spheres of cooperation. The two leaders agreed to further enhance Pakistan-Belarus bilateral cooperation.
In addition, Bilawal also met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei and Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Ali Sabry and discussed with them bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
