‘Women entrepreneurs must play role in IT’
Women business owners continue to face constraints to growth on an uneven playing field as compared to their male counterparts, said the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice Presidents Riffat Malik and Amin Ullah.
The acute social, economic, and security challenges, lack of access to professional networks, and poor access to capital remain key obstacles to growth for women entrepreneurs.
They cited that Women-led businesses need support to venture into exports and flourish in domestic trade.
“Economic development is not possible without the development of women”.
Riffat Malik emphasised that female entrepreneurs should enhance their skills in the IT sector, and find ways to promote their business. “Women entrepreneurs can earn substantial income from their business pitches on social media sitting at home, so it is important for women to come forward in the field of information technology,” she said. “Now is the era of information technology and everything is moving online, development is not possible without its use anymore.
