Nine injured as jeep falls into ravine
At least nine people suffered injuries when a jeep plunged into a gorge in the hamlet of Noori Bhonja, a suburb of Balakot on Thursday.
Rescue 1122 workers and locals rescued the injured from the ditch and shifted them to a nearby healthcare centre and later they were taken to a hospital in Mansehra.
According to the witnesses, the jeep driver Zaheer was driving the jeep and it fell into a ditch for unknown reasons. The police reached the spot and they are looking into the case.
Meanwhile, the people of Balakot are facing severe problems as the roads in Manor Valley have not been restored even after a month.
Locals said that supplying food items and transporting patients from homes to hospitals has become a life-threatening task for them. Manor Valley administration claimed that the structure has been restored but the reality on the ground is different. People are facing serious problems due to poor infrastructure.
Dignitaries of the valley have also demanded the deputy commissioner and other senior officials to ensure the restoration of structures as soon as possible.
