SSP holds open court with street crimes in focus

SSP Maroof said that the District Central police were doing their job honestly, including curbing street crimes

KARACHI:

The SSP District Central, Rana Maroof Usman held an open court at Khan Ground in Federal B Area, Block 18, on Tuesday where he listened to complaints and issued on-spot instructions for resolution of some of them.

A large number of residents and local dignitaries were present in the open court where they apprised the SSP Central of their problems. They also complained about rising street crimes in the city.

All the SDPOs and SHOs along with Deputy Chief District Central CPLC Intesar Jaffari were also present. The SSP Central listened to the complaints and issued necessary instructions to the concerned DSPs and SHOs.

While speaking on the occasion, SSP Maroof said that the District Central police were doing their job honestly, including curbing street crimes, by using the resources available to them. However people’s help in preventing street crimes and other crimes is pivotal. “The public should register their complaints and help in identifying the culprits, so that they can be punished,” he added.

SSP Maroof further said that it has been observed that most of the accused are acquitted or released on bail due to absence of witnesses or due to non-compliance of witnesses.
