LAHORE:

Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Ali Baqar Najafi directed the federal government to submit a detailed reply by September 22 to different petitions challenging fuel price adjustment and other taxes on utility bills.

Petitioner’s counsel Advocate Azhar Siddique implored the court the rest are being imposed surcharges merely to meet out-the-line losses.

The counsel representing LESCO implored the court that the Lahore High Court bench had awarded a decision on a similar nature case. Justice Najafi sought the attested copies of the decision. The LESCO’s counsel responded that he has only an unattested copy. Justice Najafi asked Siddique for his arguments on the non-appointment of the NEPRA’s members.
