New filtration plant to cater to 12,000

Provision of clean drinking water to protect people from waterborne diseases

Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak inaugurated the water filtration plant, with a capacity of 3,000 gallons, in Shujabad on Thursday.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said that the plant could facilitate 12,000 people daily by offering clean drinking water to them.

He added that the provision of clean drinking water would help protect people from hepatitis and other waterborne diseases.

The Commissioner said that the provision of clean drinking water to every citizen was a top priority of the provincial government, adding that all efforts were being made to achieve this purpose.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Tahir Wattoo said that the groundwater in Shujabad city was harmful and the new water filtration plant was the only solution for protecting people from diseases.
