Four die in separate electrocution incidents
Four people died in separate incidents of electrocution in the city, while another was killed in a roof collapse during Monday's downpour.
Muhamamd Sohail, 30, received a fatal hock while working at a shop near Qaimkhani Chowk in Baldia Town. He was closing the shutters of his welding shop when he got electrocuted apparently due to current flowing in wet iron grill from faulty wiring. His body was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
Meanwhile, the Kala Board area of Saudabad, Muneer, 37, died on a median of road after coming into contact with an electric pole. The video of the incident has gone viral on the social media. Saudabad police say that the deceased was crossing the road when he got electrocuted. Video shows an electric pole near which a person has fallen in the water and people are trying to remove him with the help of a stick, while the citizens trying the rescue also feel the electric shock and move back in panic.
In Baldia Town, Hammad Rafique died of electrocution when he touched shutter of a shop. The incident was reportedly caused due to faulty wiring which caused current to flow into iron structure of the shop.
Separately, a woman died cleaning a refrigerator at her home in Landhi's Sherpao Colony. Hanifa Zafran, 48, was cleaning the refrigerator when she got a fatal shock due to wet conditions.
Roof collapse
A boy died while his brother was critically injured when the roof of their house came crashing down on them in the Bhitai Colony area of Korangi during Monday's downpour.
