Police arrested a levies man for sexual assault on a boy in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, while raids were being conducted for the arrest of two other culprits accused of raping children, the police said on Monday.

“Police arrested the levies man Muhammad Younas in connection with the rape of children,” Amir Jan, the station house officer (SHO) of the Panjgur police station, said. “Raids are being conducted for the arrest of two remaining culprits,” he added.

Jan said that victims aged between 12 and 14 years, adding that the medical examination of one of the boys had confirmed the rape, while his father had told the police that the accused also took their nude pictures. “The parents of two other boys did not allow the medical tests.”

Initial police investigation showed that the accused levies personnel had offered a drink to the boys, who fell unconscious after drinking it. The accused then raped the boys while they were unconscious.

Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Secretary Zahid Saleem also took notice of the incident and directed the deputy commissioner to ensure justice and the arrest of the accused involved in the incident.

The Panjgur deputy commissioner suspended the accused personnel and ordered an inquiry against them. Panjgur Assistant Commissioner Amjad Hussain Soomro has been appointed as the inquiry officer.

The videos of the victims narrating their ordeal also went viral on social media. People have lashed out at the culprits for their barbarism and demanded of the government to award them exemplary punishment.
