Qazi, witness in Karachi girl’s case granted bail
The Sindh High Court granted bail to the Nikah Administrator (Qazi) and the witness in Nikah, in the case of the girl, who went to Lahore from Karachi to get married of her choice, and ordered their release.
A single bench comprising Justice Salahuddin Panhwar announced its verdict on the bail applications in the case. The court approved the bail of nikah administrator Asghar Ali and the witness Ghulam Mustafa and ordered their release from jail. The court also ordered both the accused to deposit surety bond of Rs100,000 each.
Verdict reserved
Meanwhile, the court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, East, reserved the verdict on the bail applications of main accused in the case of alleged kidnapping of a minor girl and the request to meet the abductee and record her statement under section 164 of the criminal procedure code.
The case of the alleged abduction of a minor girl was heard before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge in Karachi City Court.
The counsels completed their arguments on the bail application of the main accused, Zaheer and Shabbir. The court reserved the decision on the bail applications of the accused.
The court also reserved its decision on accused Zaheer's request to meet the abductee and record her statement under section 164.
The court remarked that the decision on the petitions will be pronounced on September 14.
According to the complainant's counsel, the complainant will challenge the decision to grant bails to the nikah administrator and the witness. Zaheer and Shabbir cannot be granted bail at this stage of the case.
