Trade expos planned to enter untapped markets

Country will hold OIC Trade Fair with focus on businesswomen in June 2023

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has planned to organise single-country exhibitions in potential non-traditional markets for introducing and promoting Pakistan’s export products, announced TDAP Director General Shahzad Ahmad.

Speaking at a meeting at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Ahmad said the trade authority would organise the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Trade Fair with the theme of “Women Entrepreneurs Development” in June 2023.

Ambassadors of OIC member states along with women entrepreneurs from these countries are expected to attend the event.

TDAP is also going to hold an event in Indonesia by December this year where business delegations from member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) will participate, besides holding B2B meetings with their Pakistani counterparts. This event will be followed by a single-country exhibition.

The DG said TDAP was planning to organise I-Tech grand expo in Lahore in March 2023, which would be the first services sector export promotion exhibition in Pakistan that would highlight the potential of IT sector.

He emphasised that Central Asia had a huge untapped potential where Pakistani products could be exported. In this connection, a single-country exhibition will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and South Africa is also in the list.

Ahmad praised the LCCI for its role in promotion of exports and cooperation with TDAP in holding seminars, webinars and compiling vital data.
