Crowds throng old battlefield
A large crowd of people of all ages thronged Shuhada Park in Chawinda to commemorate the 1965 War, where Indian tanks and warplanes were captured during the war.
Chawinda is known as the world’s biggest tank graveyard, where the twisted remains of around 600 Indian tanks lie.
People evinced keen interest in the tanks and aircraft on display at the park and lay floral wreaths on the graves of martyred soldiers, saluting their bravery.
The people of Chawinda-Sialkot demonstrated immense bravery by sacrificing their lives during the 1965 Indo-Pak War.
The world’s biggest tank battle was fought near Chawinda in 1965.
