SBCA okays operation against illegal buildings and constructions

KARACHI:

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has once again decided to initiate crackdown on ongoing illegal constructions in the city. In this regard, director general SBCA has formed a nine-member supervisory committee. A notification has also been issued in this regard.

According to the notification, the committee will be headed by DG SBCA himself and while SBCA officer Rehan Khan will serve as the task force secretary. Other members include SBCA Director Demolition, Deputy Director of concerned district, Director Vigilance, Director General Complaint Cell, PRO and Deputy Director of Law. The committee may hire any officer of the SBCA as its ninth member.

The notification has clarified that the supervisory committee will inform the Minister of Local Government Department about the progress of operation against illegal building structures in the city every 15 days. The committee will monitor all illegal constructions in the city and take action against the same while its secretary will ensure liaison of the committee with the districts.
