Body of child found with hands and feet tied
In a horrid and inhuman incident, a tortured body of a child was found with hands and feet tied from the ground near Northern Bypass close to the Afghan Basti within the limits of Gulshan-e-Maymar police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
DSP Surjani Town, Farhat Kamal told The Express Tribune that the deceased child was identified as 5-year-old Khalid son of Sher Agha, a resident of Afghan Basti.
According to police, the deceased child was missing since Sunday 12 noon and his family members were searching for him on their own. They did not file a missing child report.
The child was allegedly suffocated with a plastic bag. There are no visible marks of violence on his body. The post-mortem report will show the child was abused.
As per police, the father of the deceased child is a junk dealer and the child was the second among four siblings.
The child’s father told the police that he has no enmity with anyone, but the police are investigating.
On the other hand, Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odhu has appointed an investigation team headed by DIG West after taking notice of the incident.
The head of the committee will submit the report in three days. Additional IG Karachi has instructed the investigation team to use all resources to ensure the arrest of the people involved in the murder.
