Deranged man beaten up for tossing minor off bridge

Enraged residents of Kashmiri Bazaar allegedly beat up a mentally deranged man by tying him with ropes for allegedly throwing a minor boy off a bridge and injuring him.

According to the police, a few days back, the man was seen picking up a minor who was returning from school and throwing him off Nullah Leh bridge.

The child was seriously injured and was immediately shifted to the nearby hospital.

The locals complained that this man had also injured several other people by hitting them with bricks and that CCTV footage had gone viral multiple times however, despite several complaints, no action was taken.

Police have begun to investigate after the videos of the incident went viral.

Meanwhile, police arrested seven gamblers and recovered money and mobile phones during a crackdown on Wednesday.

Kalar Syedan police arrested seven gamblers who were identified as Safdar, Riyaz, Fayyaz, Arshad, Niyamat, Shafi and Arsalan. Police registered separate cases and further investigation was in progress.
