CTD arrests robber after encounter

KARACHI:

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) investigation arrested the accused, who fled after injuring a police officer and robbing a citizen.

In light of a statement by CTD, they arrested accused Iqbal while conducting operations at Etihad Town, Eid Gah Mor, Khyber Chowk. The apprehended suspect and his other accomplices had fled after robbing a citizen of Rs400,000 in cash and a mobile phone in Orangi town on April 29 this year.

The victim immediately called the police, who then followed the thieves and raided a home in Etihad Town.

Police Constable Nadir Khan was critically injured as the accused opened fire at the police while fleeing the scene. CTD Police handed over the arrested accused to Orangi Town Police for further investigation.
