Centre ignoring K-P in flood relief package, says Mahmood
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that the federal government had announced packages for other provinces affected by floods but K-P had been ignored. He was talking to journalists in Charsadda and Nowshera as he visited the districts as part of a series of visits following the recent floods. He said that K-P should be given its due share.
The chief minister announced that rehabilitation of the flood victims was the first priority, adding that government was waiting for the floodwater to recede after which rehabilitation will be carried out. The CM said that the federal government had filed baseless cases against Imran Khan which are void of truth and are totally based on political vendetta. He went on to say that people of Pakistan have shown their trust in Imran Khan time and again which is evident from the fact that an estimated of Rs5 billion were raised as donations in just a couple of hours through the telethon programme held by Imran Khan on Monday.
He added that these funds would be spent on the flood victims all over the country. During his visit to the relief camps, the CM directed the authorities to immediately arrange generator facility in the relief camps to provide uninterrupted power supply to the inmates. Mahmood Khan said that all available resources are being utilized as part of the rehabilitation efforts.
