QAZI AHMAD:

Dost Muhammad Colony and Qazi Ahmed Mor experienced flooding early hours of Monday, which accumulated several feet of water in the houses.

Recent rains have wreaked havoc in Qazi Ahmed town of the Nawabshah district and surrounding villages while the following deluge is rising with every pasing hour.

Encroachment have slowed the speed of passing water in the canal that runs through Qazi Ahmed city. An enormous flood partially submerged the town, and now temporary dams are being constructed around the city using earth-moving machinery to save the remaining areas. The level of the water rally going through the city is steadily increasing because residents have created barriers in front of the canal to preserve their lands.

On Monday, the business and urban communities staged a sit-in on the National Highway and protested against the district administration's ineptitude. Protestors blocked the traffic on National Highway for several hours. According to citizens and traders, the city is surrounded in peril as a result of the district administration's failure act promptly. They demanded Pakistan Army to remove impediments in the flow of water to save the city from further harm.
