Punjab, K-P, G-B CMs skip flood meeting

NDMA chief gave a detailed briefing to the participants of the meeting regarding the flood situation

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday chaired a high-level National Flood Emergency Meeting to gauge the current situation in the country in which chief ministers of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan did not participate.

The three chief ministers were invited to the most-important meeting. According to sources, they were prevented from going to the most-important meeting by PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan. However, Sindh and Balochistan chief ministers attended the meeting.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Absul Quddus Bizenjo, Murad Ali Shah, all provincial chief secretaries, federal ministers and senior officials were present.

The National Disaster Management Authority chairman gave a detailed briefing to the participants of the meeting regarding the flood situation as well as the rescue and relief operation in the country.
