How would you describe your personal style?
1. My personal style definitely depends on what suits my body type and whatever is currently trending. It surely has to resonate with my taste. If there’s a trend that everyone is following but I’m not comfortable in or I feel it doesn’t suit my body type then I won’t opt for it. I’m very picky when it comes to adapting to new trends.
How has your style changed over the years?
2. My style evolved as I evolved during different stages of my life. I dress up very differently from how I used to while I was in college. I started working right after college and that was a big shift towards a more comfortable yet a work appropriate style and then after that I got married, had a baby so my body changed and so did my style. I feel it’s very important to have an age appropriate style.
What do you carry effortlessly, eastern wear or western wear?
3. I think I like to carry both effortlessly. It depends on the cut, style and colour specifically. I’m picky about the cuts and colors I choose. As long as I like it I can carry it confidently.
How do you dress your body according to your body type?
4. My body type surely has evolved and I make it a point to not just follow any trend that I know won’t suit my body type. I try to stay updated to the trends while considering my body type - I have to feel confident and comfortable in whatever I wear.
In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing?
5. It most definitely would be wearing something that isn’t meant for their body type or something that is not appropriate for their age. It’s so important to take your body type into consideration when dressing up.
Which silhouettes suit your body the most?
6. I think I can pull off dresses and mid length skirts pretty well but I always mix and match - I don’t limit myself to the type of outfits I can wear. Thankfully I have a body type that looks appropriate in pretty much every kind of outfit so I keep a variety in my wardrobe. But I personally love styling dresses and skirts on vacations.
What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?
7. Again, I definitely shy away from wearing anything that doesn’t suit my body type and doesn’t resonate with my sense of style. Otherwise it’s all cool.
What are the essential clothing items everyone should have in their wardrobe?
8. I believe everyone needs to have 3-4 comfortable outfits in basic colours they can wear everyday yet style them while going out, maybe to grab a coffee with friends as well. A comfortable pair of denim or trousers and three to four T-shirts. For me that works. Again you can always mix and match.
