Driver rams speeding car into woman on Tariq Road footpath

KARACHI:

A woman died while two people were injured in a traffic accident on Tariq Road.

According to preliminary information, rescue officials said a speeding vehicle's driver lost control and crashed into a wall late on Tuesday night. The unidentified driver escaped the scene with his vehicle leaving the victims in distress.

As a result, 75-year-old Farkhunda died while 43-year-old Feroz and 60-year-old Muhammad Kazim were injured.

The dead and injured were immediately shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. All the individuals are said to be residents of Clifton.

Separately, a young bike rider died in a traffic accident near Indus Hospital in the Korangi area between Tuesday and Wednesday.

As soon as the accident was reported, rescue workers reached the spot and shifted the body to the JPMC for post-mortem.

According to rescue officials, the age of the deceased is between 25 to 28 years. However, nothing was recovered from his possession which could help his identification.
