AVLS recover 32 stolen cars, 93 motorcycles

Suspects were members of five different vehicle-lifting gangs

The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS) claimed to have arrested 12 suspected members of five gangs, allegedly involved in car and motorcycle theft. Police recovered 32 stolen cars, 93 motorcycles, weapons, jammers and other items from the suspects’ possession.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr Moin Masood disclosed the arrest in a press conference held at police lines. City Police Officer (CPO) Umar Saeed Malik, SSP Investigation Captain (retd) Muhammad Ajmal, Chief Traffic Officer Mian Akmal, ASP Maaz Ahmed and DSP CIA Amin Bhatti were also present at the press conference.

RPO Dr Masood said that in-charge of the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Squad (AVLS) Sub-Inspector Mian Ali Akbar, along with ASI Yasir Rafiq, Javed Gujjar, Aamir Rafiq Bhatti and other senior officers conducted raids in different areas of Pakistan, including Faisalabad, Landi Kotal, Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Karachi, Multan, Kabirwala and Lahore.

Police teams nationwide arrested twelve suspected members of different gangs, including the Shakuri Gang, Shakeel Gang, Tahir Abbas Gang, Asad Gang and the Kashi Gang. The police teams recovered 32 cars worth Rs30.7 million and 93 stolen motorcycles worth Rs7.7million, which had been stolen from different areas of Faisalabad.
