Engineering industry plays a key role in economic growth and development besides significantly improving the lives of people, remarked Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman on Saturday. Talking to a delegation of industrialists, led by Federal Tax Ombudsman Coordinator Meher Kashif Younis, the governor said that the industry provided an important link between the country’s engineering capacity and its economic development. “Industrial engineering also provides a systematic approach to streamline and improve productivity and efficiency,” he said, according to a press release. The governor said its benefits could be linked directly to the work of industrial engineers, which included more profitable businesses. He highlighted that the engineering disciplines integrated scientific principles with practical research, providing systems and processes that created ways of acquiring new knowledge.
