Firdous Ashiq Awan offloaded from Dubai-bound flight, blue passport confiscated
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Firdous Ashiq Awan was off-loaded from a Dubai-bound flight at Islamabad airport and her blue passport was confiscated by Immigration authorities on Saturday.
As per details, Awan was travelling to Dubai on flight EK-615 from where she would've departed to Canada, sources told Express News.
According to FIA officials, Awan had a blue passport but she was not authorised to use it since she was not a government official any longer, therefore, it was confiscated. PTI leader left after she was offloaded from her flight.

Meanwhile, Awan has denied reports that she was escaping to Canada. Speaking to a private TV channel, the PTI leader claimed that after becoming an MNA once, as per law, it is permissible to hold a blue passport.
Awan said that she was going to participate in the Women's Peace Cup being held in Dubai on August 21 as a 'co-host'. She confirmed the confiscation of her passport but stated that things will become clear by Monday.
