Hrithik says 'Krrish' was inspired by 'The Lord of the Rings'
India's maiden caped superhero, which we all grew up watching, is returning to big screens again! The fourth franchise of the Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish will be penned and directed by his father Rakesh Roshan. In a recent interview, Hrithik shared how Krrish was inspired by the popular fantasy film series, The Lord of the Rings.
The prequel of the famous franchise, The Rings of Power, is all set to release next month. Sharing his thoughts about the trailer of The Rings of Power, Hrithik said, "Oh! I think the trailer speaks for itself. This is the kind of stuff that I aspire for. It is a visual extravaganza meeting [with] great content."
Revealing the special connection between The Lord of the Rings and Krrish, the actor added, "There's a little connection between me and The Lord of The Rings that I don't think anybody knows. On one random day in 2004, my dad put on The Lord of The Rings, part one. He saw the film and couldn't stop. He saw part two and couldn't stop and saw part three. And then he gave me a call and he couldn't stop talking about the way they used this incredible idea and then had this progression which was so incredible. [And he asked] 'Why can't we do that?' So, I said, 'yeah, but what are you talking about?' Then, he said 'Why can't we take Koi... Mil Gaya, which is one of our previous films, and have a progression?' And that was the birth of Krrish. So, if there was no The Lord of The Rings, there would be no Krrish."
Previously, it was reported that the shooting for Krrish 4 will begin as soon as June this year. The source claimed that “the preparation on Krrish 4, including the casting of the film, will begin in June this year.”
According to Pinkvilla, last year, when the news of the franchise was first announced in June, it was also revealed that the fourth franchise will include an element of time travel and will possibly bring Jadoo (the lost alien from Koi... Mil Gaya who bestows Krrish with powers) back into the Krrish universe after two decades.
