KARACHI:

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced that it has been facing curtailed gas supplies from a few gas fields that has resulted in additional pressure on the system with “our line pack getting badly affected”.

“The reason for reduced supply is unforeseen tripping in multiple gas fields, as a result of which there have been multiple complaints of low gas pressure,” public gas utility SSGC said in a statement on Wednesday.

In such situations, “SSGC is now forced to implement gas load management plan by rationalising the use of gas whereby it is giving priority to the domestic and commercial sectors.”

The company said the current situation had been further compounded by the prevailing monsoon season that hampered SSGC’s customer service efforts to reach out to customers and solve their complaints on time. Nonetheless, the company’s call centre is working around the clock to ensure quick addressing of complaints.
