10 killed in Punjab road crashes
At least 10 people were killed and 984 were injured in 946 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) acros Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Of the injured, 535 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 449 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site.
The majority of RTCs involved motorbikes. Further analysis showed that 461 drivers, 24 underage drivers, 111 pedestrians, and 422 passengers were among the victims of RTCs.
The statistics show that 268 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 273 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list. Faisalabad followed behind with 71 RTCs and 80 victims and Multan at third with 64 RTCs and 68 victims.
The details further reveal that 984 victims were affected by RTCs, including 824 males and 170 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 196 were under 18 years old, 524 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 274 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
According to the data, 854 motorbikes, 70 rickshaws, 72 cars, 25 vans, nine passenger buses, 16 trucks and 77 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the aforementioned RTCs.
