WhatsApp releases new updated app for Windows users
WhatsApp has launched a new app for Windows users using new technology that will have better performance. The app was previously available only in beta but is now open for alI.
In a detailed blog, the company said that the new app is aimed to replace the old WhatsApp Desktop with a more native experience.
This has allowed for better advantages for app users like sending and receiving messages even when their phone is offline. The interface has also been redesigned to look neater and organized, while WhatsApp promises reliability and increased speed.
The MacOS app is expected to get a similar update in the near future.
Last month WhatsApp released the first public beta of its new Mac app built on Catalyst technology, allowing developers to easily bring apps from iOS apps to macOS.
The new macOS app runs faster and uses fewer resources, especially when trying to save battery power. The beta app also works even when phones are offline, similar to the Windows app. Windows users can download the app through Microsoft Store, requiring a computer running on Windows 10 or later.
Mac users can sign up for the beta app on the TestFlight to get it before its official release. WhatsApp is also planning on releasing a beta for iPadOS as well.
