Police ensure stringent security measures

Lahore Police ensured stringent security measures as people celebrated the Independence Day.

More than 3,000 policemen were deployed at vital installations, main markets, important roads and buildings to ensure foolproof security of the people.

Police and other law enforcement agencies, in wake of present border situation, were out on high-alert to foil any possible nefarious designs of the anti-peace elements.

The police patrolling was intensified across the metropolis to create a sense of security among the people. As part of the security plan, more than 6,000 policemen performed security duties on the night of August 13 and on the Independence Day.

As many as six SPs, 34 DSPs, and 83 SHOs along with lady police personnel and Anti-Riot Force contingents were deputed on this day.

Moreover more than 650 police personnel along with Anti-Riot Force were deputed at central parks and recreational points to provide security to the families and to avoid hooliganism.

Teams of Dolphin Squads and Police Response Units were put on high alert to ensure complete checking of suspected people.

The Dolphin Squads and PRU teams ensured effective patrolling across the city particularly on main junctions, roads and around parks and zoo. Search and security operations were launched in many parts of the city to hunt down suspected people.
