ISLAMABAD:

As part of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the first constituent assembly, women and children’s conventions were held in the National Assembly Hall on Friday, wherein resolutions for the empowerment and encouragement of women and protection of children were unanimously passed.

During the women’s convention, the resolution, which was presented by Wajiha Qamar, highlighted the role of women in Pakistan Movement and called for an end to discrimination.

The resolution also paid tribute to women leaders of Pakistan, including Fatima Jinnah, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan and Benazir Bhutto. It also called for convening a women’s convention in the same hall on Mach 8 every year.
