Police open probe into woman’s death
The Steel Town police station has opened investigations into the mysterious death of Kainat, 20, who had left home to see a doctor, but her body was brought to hospital by unidentified men.
Steel Town SHO Gulbahar Khan said Kainat's body was brought to a private hospital. The doctors at the hospital told the police that the people who brought the body said she had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Soon, the family was informed about the death of the young daughter and they rushed to the private health facility. The family members called the police and insisted that Kainat's health condition was bad, and she had left home to go to the hospital, but it was not so serious that she would suffer a heart attack and die.
SHO Khan said police are trying to trace the people who brought the body. They have shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
The availability of female medico-legal officer is a major issue which delays autopsies of women and their bodies remain in the mortuary for days.
